Caps for Suspension Insulator
Caps for suspension insulators are protective shields or movable fixation for connecting two insulators or an insulator to one or more fittings. They help in the safe and stable distribution of electricity. They hold transmission lines on steel towers in place. They therefore come in handy in electricity supply.
Caps for suspension insulators are produced in a range of different standards bearing various mechanical resistances from 40KN to 1000KN. Each standard covers different substations and power lines. The various kinds of designs include socket type (40KN-1000KN), tongue type (40KN-80KN), and clevis type (40KN-300KN).
When requested, the caps for suspension insulator pins may be sealed using an anti-corrosion zinc wrap. The zinc sleeve is highly recommendable for insulators used in heavy pollution lines. Insulators for direct current lines are generally supplied with the zinc sleeve. The caps for tongue and clevis type insulators are supplied with a fortified pin and steel bolt.
The cap is made of forged and galvanized steel linked to a porcelain material. Completing the connection is the ball and socket type cap.
